Reasons to Love Adelaide

Adelaide is one of the world’s most liveable and lovable cities.  Surrounded by rolling hills and endless sandy beaches, the city is beautiful and, friendly, safe and affordable.  It is consistently voted one of the world’s most liveable cities, because there is so much to do and enjoy.People from Adelaide go out of their way to make sure there is a warm welcome waiting for international students when they first arrive here.

  • Affordable Living: Living in Adelaide is cheaper than most Australian cities. The cost of rent, transport and food is lower, which means a better quality of life for students. Adelaide is 19% more affordable than Melbourne or Sydney, and five percent cheaper than Perth or Brisbane.
  • Safe and Welcoming: Adelaide is an inclusive, multicultural city. People from more than 125 nations live here, bringing variety and vibrancy to the city. Our crime rates are the lowest in the country, and Adelaide has been listed as the safest city in Australia.
  • Easy to Get Around: Adelaide’s design is based on a square grid layout surrounded by green parkland, so it is easy to find your way around. The flat terrain makes walking and cycling easy, and you can drive if you have an international driver’s licence.
A public transport system of buses, trains and trams covers the city and suburbs – there is even a free ‘city loop’ bus and tram around the city centre. All international students can get cheaper tickets – just show your student ID card.
  • A Student City: Adelaide has a strong and growing reputation as an education city.  In addition to TAFE SA, Adelaide is home to six world-leading universities: The University of Adelaide, Flinders University, The University of South Australia, Carnegie Mellon University, University College London and Torrens University Australia.
  • Campus Locations:TAFE SA has 9 campuses situated in the heart of the city, as well as throughout South Australia:
