ANU-Study Canberra India Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The Scholarship shall be available for an applicant who:

  • is an international student;
  • is a citizen of India, with most recent study completed in India prior to commencing their ANU program;
  • is enrolling in the first year of a single, or double, undergraduate program, or postgraduate coursework program in semester 1 2017
  • has achieved excellent results in their secondary studies qualification or undergraduate degree; and
  • has applied, and received an unconditional offer for admission to the Australian National University by the date advertised on the University website.

10 Scholarships will be available to undergraduate students and 5 for postgraduate coursework students. The Scholarships are highly competitive and shall be offered to successful applicants who have achieved at an excellent level in their final years of schooling or university studies in India.

T. B. Millar scholarships

Eligibility requirements

The T.B. Millar Scholarships are available for new applicants to the Centre’s Master coursework programs who intend to study full-time. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master coursework programs offered by SDSC.

Applicants should submit the following: a cover letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one; a copy of their academic transcripts; a current curriculum vitae; two academic written references (or arrange to have these sent on their behalf to arrive by the closing date) and should be submitted to the Program Administrator, Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, Coral Bell School of Asia and the Pacific, The Australian National University, Acton, ACT 2601.

ANU College of Business and Economics India Excellence Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  • defined as an overseas student under the terms of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000;
  • is a citizen of India;
  • has achieved at an excellent level in their final years of schooling, demonstrated by excellent results in their secondary studies qualification or undergraduate degree;
  • has accepted the offer of admission to the Australian National University by the date advertised on the University website; and
  • will enrol in the first year of a single or double undergraduate coursework degree program or postgraduate coursework degree program in the semester stipulated in the scholarship letter of offer.
  • Dependents or a spouse of staff of diplomatic or consular missions enrolling in a postgraduate degree are eligible

ANU College of Business and Economics Community Engagement Award

Eligibility requirements

The Award shall be available to an applicant who:

  • Is a International student.
  • Is currently enrolled either full or part time in a single or double undergraduate degree or a graduate coursework program offered by the College.
  • Has not previously received this Community Engagement Award in prior years of study.
  • Is seeking funding for an upcoming or a recently completed activity or opportunity. In this instance, activities completed within the last 12 months will be accepted.
  • Engagement activities must be deemed to directly enhance the students' academic experience and professional career development prospects in a business or economics related field.
  • Eligible activities for consideration may include: conferences, research, voluntary internships, outreach, service or community programs, or some other similar engagement which is specifically aligned with the individual's ANU curriculum.
  • Award funding will not be available for the following: sporting and recreational events that are not aligned with the student's program of study, participation in compulsory course or program components, activities where the student will receive a salary or academic credit standing for their involvement (including international exchange placements receiving credit towards an ANU degree program).

ACTION Trust Honours Scholarships

The scholarship shall be available for award each year to students who have been successful in gaining entry into the honours year of a program of study through the Fenner School of Environment and Society or the Earth and Marine Science program in the Research School of Earth Sciences; have a strong academic record; are intending to undertake research in an area relating to the interests of the ACTION Trust and/or to environment and sustainability; and have willing and suitable supervision.

Applications must include a statement of no more than one page in length describing the intended research, its relevance to the interests of the ACTION Trust and/or to environmental and sustainability and the motivation for undertaking research on this topic; applicant’s academic record; name and contact details of the applicant’s identified supervisor/s; contact details for two academic referees familiar with the applicant’s work.

National Security Policy Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The scholarship shall be awarded in three divisions: Division 1: Employees of the Australian Government Public Service, or State and Territory equivalents who have received an offer of admission from the National Security College. Division 2: Other Domestic students who have received an offer of admission from the National Security College. Division 3: International students who have received an offer of admission from the National Security College.

The scholarship shall be available to an applicant who is an international student and has completed a Bachelor degree with Honours or international equivalent in a cognate discipline with a minimum of Distinction average or above and meets the ANU English language requirements and has been offered admission to the Master of National Security Policy or Master of National Security Policy (Advanced).

Applicants must provide a statement of aims of no more than 500 words to support their application, current Curriculum Vitae of no more than three pages, and two academic written references. The Scholarship will normally be offered in first semester; however, if not taken up, the College may offer a Scholarship in the second semester of that year.   • enrolled or enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University;
  • holds an Australian Bachelor Honours degree with First Class Honours or equivalent, and has research publications and/or relevant experience.

There is no separate application for this scholarship as all eligible applicants will be automatically considered. Students wanting to be considered for the scholarship in semester 1 must have applied for admission by the 31st October the year prior. Students wanting to be considered for the scholarship in semester 2 must have applied for admission by the 31st May in the same year.
