The University of Surrey is based out of the town of Guildford and is well connected to London by train. The University of Surrey is ranked fourth in The Guardian League Tables and features in the top 250 universities in the world in the QS Rankings Table. The University offers a wide variety of programmes across the arts, science and engineering. Industrial internships are an integral part of the academic framework at the University of Surrey and students get opportunities to work with firms like Rolls Royce, KPMG and BAE Systems. There is a Rolls Royce-funded research centre that focuses on automobile engineering and space research.

Graduate employability is a quality for which Surrey is rated highly and the career support and employability team ensures that all students get a good chance to apply for jobs. Scholarships are on offer for Indian students; these are funded by the University of Surrey and the British Council. Six scholarships worth GBP 5,000 each are available for postgraduate engineering students. 

Accommodation is available to suit different student budgets and fee ranges from GBP 80 to GBP 150 a week. On an average living, accommodation, food and transport charges would amount to about GBP 900 a month.  There is a strong community of Indian students at the University of Surrey and a small group of students from Tamil Nadu have formed a Tamil Students Association at the University as well.
