VUW – A Legacy of Excellence
Victoria University of Wellington or VUW as it is popularly known was established in 1899. VUW enrols over 21,500 students every year of which over 3,000 students come from other countries. VUW has four world class campuses spread across Wellington. With a clear focus on postgraduate research over 20% of the students are enrolled on postgraduate programmes.

Admissions & Scholarships
VUW has three admission intakes every year. These are in the months of February, July and November. Applications should ideally reach the VUW Admissions office at least three months before the scheduled start of semester.
IELTS score submission is mandatory for international applicants. Those looking to study an undergraduate programme should have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0. Those looking to study a postgraduate programme should have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
The average cost of studying at VUW works out to around US$16,000 every year inclusive of accommodation and living costs. A wide variety of scholarships are on offer for international students with a greater focus on postgraduate students. The “Victoria International Excellence Scholarship” offers eligible students a sum of $20,000 spread over three years.

Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Science Engineering (Honours)
This is a four year full-time programme accredited by the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ). The cost of studying this programme equates to around INR 65 to 70 lakhs. The tuition fee works out to around INR 13 lakhs a year. The programme is designed to offer students a clear foundation in Electronics as well as Computer Science. An emphasis on hardware and networking is given and optional modules allow students to study subjects like Robotics as well.
Master of Computer Science
This is an attractive programme that draws lot of international applicants. The tuition fee works out to around INR 13.50 lakhs a year. What makes this course even more attractive is the “Fuji Xerox Masters Scholarship”. Students can apply for this scholarship with a research proposal. Winners get around INR 11 lakhs as a scholarship amount.
Master of Architecture by Research
The past decade has really seen a surge in Indian students opting for Architecture as a viable course and career option. With the construction boom in full sway in India, this MArch programme offered by VUW has its fair share of students. Offered as a one-year programme, the tuition fee is around INR 14 lakhs. Applicants should have a relevant undergraduate degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
The MBA offered by VUW is ranked among the best in New Zealand. What sets the programme apart from similar ones in the USA and the UK is that this is a comprehensive two-year programme.
