Dan David Prize Scholarship Applications 2016

Eligibility requirements

The Dan David Prize laureates annually donate twenty scholarships of US$15,000 each to outstanding doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers of excellent achievement and promise studying topics related to the chosen fields. Ten scholarships are awarded to students from universities throughout the world and ten scholarships to students from Tel Aviv University.

Sir Run Run Shaw Scholarship 2016/17

Eligibility requirements

The applicants should: - be Hong Kong permanent residents; - be graduates or final-year students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong; - have a first degree with good class honours; - be proficient in English; and - choose to study for a full-time one-year taught Master's programme. Preference will be given to candidates with the intention to return to Hong Kong for application of the knowledge acquired.

Arts Administration Scholarships (Local/Overseas)

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Hong Kong Permanent Resident at the time of applying for the scholarships.
  • Applicants must have at least 3 years of paid work experience in the arts/cultural sector and demonstrate a strong commitment to the sectors.

Interested applicants are advised to refer to the specific guidelines and forms for respective scholarship schemes. The documents can now be obtained from HKADC Administration Office (14/F, East Warwick House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Hong Kong).

Value details

Each scholarship value is up to HK$450,000 and mainly covers tuition fee, subsistence allowance and a round-trip economy class flight ticket.

University of Birmingham Hong Kong Postgraduate Scholarship 2016

Eligibility requirements

Applicants should normally fulfill the following requirements: have resided in Hong Kong for at least 7 years preceding 1 October 2015; be holders of a degree (or expect to gain a degree before September 2015) from an institution of tertiary education in Hong Kong; have applied by 31 March 2015 for admission to the University of Birmingham through normal admissions procedures; be eligible for admission to their intended course of study at the University of Birmingham (Note: the scholarship award will only be confirmed when the candidate has been offered a place at the University); be able to provide evidence satisfactory to the University of an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English; should not have previously studied in the United Kingdom; and should be able to fund the remaining costs of their studies at Birmingham including living costs from other sources.

China Oxford Scholarship Fund 2016/17

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply to the COSF awards programme, a student must be a Chinese citizen ordinarily resident in the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong or Macau, must have an official or conditional offer from the University of Oxford at the time of application and meet the following criteria: a. Academic excellence; b. Financial need. c. Personal qualities, achievements and leadership potential; d. A commitment to contributing to the future of China; and e. Sufficient command of the English language to fully benefit from an award placement. Students who are already studying at the University of Oxford are also eligible to apply. However, preference is given to those who will begin their first year of graduate studies at Oxford.

COSF grants up to 20 awards annually with amounts ranging from USD $1,000 to USD $20,000.

Admission Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

CUHK offers admission scholarships to non-local new undergraduate students on the basis of their outstanding academic or non-academic performance. There is no need for the students to apply for these scholarships. The University will identify qualified new students and inform the selected students of the scholarship offers. Many of the admission scholarships are renewable for the normative period of study subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Value details

The scholarship ranges from HK $10,000 to a full-tuition coverage. It also includes allowance of up to HK $45,000 per year.
