This scholarship is awarded to non-resident first-time freshmen who meet GPA score of 3.30 - 4.0+, SAT score of 1200 - 1350+ (critical reading and math only) and minimum Act score of 25 - 33+.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a new, first-time freshmen entering in the fall term and having not attended another college or university after high school graduation
  • Be a degree-seeking student through CSU's main campus. CSU Online students are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • We consider the best of your test scores (super score) for both the ACT and SAT (critical reading and math, only).
  • Test scores are accepted through May 1 and scholarship eligibility will be automatically reviewed when new scores are submitted
  • Award amounts listed are per year and available for 4 years.

Students cannot receive the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) award, the Native American Legacy Award, or the GI Promise, HB 15-1294 GI Benefits and Yellow Ribbon programs.  We will make sure you receive the highest award for which you are eligible.

This scholarship is awarded to first-time freshmen who have participated in a CSU Partnership Designated program (Black Issues Forum, Lorenzo De Zavala Youth Legislative Session, or the Native Education Forum) .Eligible students, who are offered an award, will need to accept their award from their RAMweb (Financial Aid section).

Students must be new, first-year students and have not attended another college or university after high school (secondary) graduation, and prior to enrollment at Colorado State.

Scholarships are for students seeking a degree through CSU's main campus (not CSU Online) and require enrollment in on-campus credits.

Scholarships are not awarded to students starting in the spring or summer session.

Native American Legacy Award (NALA)

Eligibility requirements

  • It cannot be combined with the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), Yellow Ribbon Award, GI Promise, HB 15-1294 GI Benefits, or other non-resident institutional scholarships.
  • Non-resident, full-time, degree-seeking, Native American students are eligible if they are citizens of tribes that have a historical legacy of occupation in Colorado.
  • You must submit proof of tribal citizenship to receive this award.
  • All University scholarships and tuition reductions are for regular on-campus credits.

  • Transfer students:  June 1 for fall and November 1 for spring

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

Eligibility requirements

Renewable for eight total consecutive fall and spring semesters provided requirements are met. Eligible students include non-resident entering, first-time freshmen who meet specific academic criteria and are from a participating WUE state.

Application details

WUE will be awarded on an on-going basis, and additional test scores and GPAs may be submitted until August 1 to qualify; provided funds are available.

Creative and Performing Arts Award

Eligibility requirements

Award amounts vary and are awarded to students with talent in art, creative writing, dance, music, or theater. 

Auditions held during high school visitation days and the first week of the fall semester. Dance majors only.

Auditions held with the faculty appropriate to instrument or vocal range. Preference given to music majors. 

Auditions or portfolio reviews held during high school visitation days with appropriate faculty and the first week of each semester. Theatre majors only.
