Industry Placement

Gain work experience with a guaranteed industry placement organised by CIT (1 day a week for 17 weeks). Graduates from this program will be ready to embark on, or continue with, successful careers in both the private and public sectors.

  • FNSACC511 Provide financial and business performance information
  • FNSACC512 Prepare tax documentation for individuals
  • FNSACC513 Manage budgets and forecasts
  • FNSACC514 Prepare financial reports for corporate entities
  • FNSACC516 Implement and maintain internal control procedures
  • FNSACC517 Provide management accounting information

  • BSBFIA401 Prepare financial reports
  • BSBITU402 Develop and use complex spreadsheets
  • FNSTPB503 Apply legal principles in consumer and contract law
  • FNSACC608 Evaluate organisations financial performance
  • FNSACC408 Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry

Job outcome:

Assistant accountant (inventory, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, computerised bookkeeping and costing), budget officers, office managers, administration managers.

Pathway to Further Study:

Diploma of Accounting (FNS50217) = 24 credit points (1 year) towards UC's Bachelor of Accounting (MGB001.1) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) (MGB301.1)

Entry requirements

For international students

Academic requirements:

  • Year 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Students over the age of 20 may be eligible for adult entry

English requirements:

  • IELTS 5.5 (no band score less than 5.0)
  • TOEFL iBT - 46
  • PTE Academic - 42 (minimum of 36 in each band)
  • Cambridge English test (C1 Advanced and B2 First) - 162
