Overview
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was established in 2009 after the merger of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH and the Universität Karlsruhe (TH). Informally known as KIT, the Institute is known for its high-quality accredited programmes in science, engineering and computing. There are over 140 research institutes that are a part of KIT and researchers work on areas as diverse as sustainable living, safe energy, polymers, automobiles and nanotechnology. KIT has a strong community of international students from all around the world.
