This course is designed to provide maximum flexibility and to allow depth and breadth in the study of the major business and commerce discipline areas. Its structure provides the capacity to tailor applications and focus in different contexts and different environments while ensuring knowledge of the theory, principles and core elements in the relevant discipline areas. Commerce is the cornerstone of the modern economy. This degree offers a world-class education in the economic, political, legal, social, cultural, and technological principles that exist around the world. Students will develop: fundamental knowledge of general principles and applications of business and commerce disciplines; the ability to analyse, evaluate and apply their expertise to problem-solving; a capacity to merge knowledge from different areas to create innovative solutions, while remaining aware of ethical and social responsibility; the ability to articulate and communicate their reasoning effectively and skills in interpersonal communication and cultural awareness in a global business environment. Knowledge and understanding of accounting is an essential requirement for successful management. The area of study includes units which concentrate attention on the preparation and audit of financial reports for managers, owners and other interested parties. Validated and effective financial reports enable performance measurement and control of individuals within teams, corporations, non-government organisations, governments and other entities. Graduates may find employment in the following sectors: financial analysis, human resources, public relations, marketing, accountancy, international trade, administration and advertising.

Entry requirement for international students
Students who have completed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), GCE O-level, or equivalent programs must first complete a pre-university qualification such as GCE A levels, STPM, Monash University Foundation Program (MUFY) or other equivalent. A pre-university qualification serves as a basic entry requirement to an undergraduate degree at Monash University Malaysia and must be atleast 17 years old. Students should demonstrate their English language proficiency through one of the following: studying English at Year 12 or equivalent; studying at an institution where English is the language of instruction; English language proficiency tests; secondary schooling and two university-level subjects with English as the language of instruction; British GCE schooling and Monash English Bridging.
