What will I learn?

The Foundation in Arts programme at IUMW acts as a prerequisite for students who intend to pursue their degree within the fields of arts, humanities, business, law, social sciences, and information technology. Students gain the knowledge to be able to think independently and creatively, communicate their knowledge effectively with others and operate in a constructive, ethical and professional manner, and boosts their proficiency in the English language.

A solid Foundation programme can give students an advantage over others who are entering higher education directly after high school. Using tertiary-style teaching with plenty of lectures, tutorials and seminar-type classes, students can kick-start their undergraduate endeavours on a firm platform. With IUMW, you will find yourself academically ready and personally confident enough to succeed at your chosen undergraduate course.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • Pass SPM / SPMV with at least credit in any five (5) subjects; or
  • Pass unified examination certificate (UEC) with at least grade b in three (3) subjects; or
  • Pass O-level with at least grade c in five (5) subjects; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the malaysian government or university senate.

English Requirements for International Students:

  • Pass IUMW Intensive English, or IELTS with minimum Band 5, or TOEFL with a minimum score of 500;
