Recent research in analytical chemistry involves synthesis and characterization of materials and nanomaterials for analytical purposes utilising synthetic and natural resources (e.g. synthetic ligand, photocatalytic material, functional polymer, natural based absorbent, nanocellulose, nanofibre, nanostructured materials, etc). Analytical application of the prepared materials includes but is not limited to environmental clean-up, sensor application and other analytical method development. Examples of method developments explored are electrochemical and optical based analysis, chemical and biosensor development and water treatment procedures and prototypes.

Tuition fees

RM 10,750.00 (Rs2,01,533.48) per year RM 6,500 for first semester; RM 4,250 for the second and third semesters; RM 3,750 for fourth semester and RM 4,000 for the fifth and subsequent semesters.

Entry requirement for international students

Students should have good scholastic achievement in the bachelor's degree or its equivalent (subject to specific program requirements). An applicant without sufficient academic qualification but possessing evidence of adequate related research or work experience may also apply for admission. A student in the final semester of undergraduate study may apply for provisional admission provided their current CGPA satisfies the program requirement. All international candidates from countries where English is not a medium of instruction must have obtained a minimum score of 550 for TOEFL or Band 6 for IELTS. A candidate without the requisite minimum score for TOFLE or IELTS maybe granted a provisional admission. Such candidates will be required to pass an English Placement Test conducted by the University.
