Course info


This diploma will foster student’s creative thinking abilities and capabilities via emphasis on studio practice. It is based on the creation of objects and accessories - ranging from personal expression to lifestyle products. By departing from conventional high volume production and technology-led mass consumption products, it will make sure students focus on the appreciation of materials, crafts, elemental technologies and sustainable production methods. The aim is to help them set the pace in integrating design, culture, fashion, trends and entrepreneurial business in an aggregated industry landscape and consumption environment.

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants are required to pass the relevant NAFA admission test/audition/interview. They must not be younger than 16 years of age on 30th June 2014. Applicants from India must have completed Secondary School Certificate (Year 10) or Senior School Certificate (Year 12) obtained from: The Central Board of Secondary Education Examinations (CBSE), The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISCE). Those from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also they should hold Grade C6 at GCE 'O' Level, TOEFL score of 500, IELTS Band 5, qualifications equivalent to any of the above. Those from SOTA or with GCE ‘A’ Level, IB Diploma or its equivalent attained from institutions in Singapore will be eligible for module exemptions of up to 40 credits. ITE graduates in any discipline with a minimum GPA of 2.5 may apply. ITE graduates from the following courses are eligible to apply for module exemptions: Nitec in Product Design, Nitec in Facility Technology (Landscaping), Nitec in Building Drafting (Civil and Structure), Nitec in Facility Technology (Landscaping), Nitec in Space Design (Architecture), Nitec in Space Design (Interior and Exhibition), Nitec in Visual Communication, Nitec in Interactive Media Design, Nitec in Visual Effects, Higher Nitec in Visual Merchandising.
