Course info


The maritime studies research covers the following areas: maritime logistics; port economics and management; maritime strategy and risk management; strategic and quality management in shipping; supply chain management. In this programme, students are required to satisfy the following requirements in addition to pursuing independent research: 18 AUs, with an average grade of B or CGPA of 3.5. In addition to satisfying the course requirements, students are also expected to submit a Confirmation Report and pass the oral presentation by the end of Year 2. At the end of the programme, the student is required to write and submit a thesis, which will be examined by internal and external examiners.

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants must have bachelor's degree with minimum 2nd class honours upper and the ability to pursue research in the candidate's proposed field of advanced study. A valid GRE/GMAT score is required for applicants who are not graduates of the Autonomous Universities in Singapore. For applicants whose native language is not English, a good TOEFL score is required. Test dates must be within 2 years or less from the date of the application. IELTS may be submitted in place of TOEFL.
