  • have achieved an 85% average (or equivalent) in previous studies.

Deakin International Scholarship

  • have achieved a 65% average (or equivalent) in previous studies.

Unsuccessful applicants of the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship will automatically be considered for the Deakin International Scholarship.

Business Bursaries for International VCE Students

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a commencing international student who studied VCE in Australia or offshore in 2015
  • be enrolled in a Deakin Business School undergraduate course in Trimester 1 2016.
  • This bursary does not apply to combined degrees and postgraduate degrees. Bursaries cannot be deferred and will no longer apply if you transfer to a different (non-eligible) course.

2015 VCE applicants for all Deakin Business School undergraduate courses will have the bursary applied to their records after the census date for each trimester commencing Trimester 1, 2016.

2016 Endeavour Awards

You need to ensure that you are eligible for an Endeavour Award before deciding to apply for one. If you are eligible then you need to follow the application process for that award, as the processes differ depending on the particular type of award you are applying for.

The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government's internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to undertake study, research and professional development abroad.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)

Eligibility requirements

The IPRS are open to international students. Successful applicants must have achieved a first class Honours degree or equivalent. Awards are only available to those who will be undertaking a Masters or Doctoral degree full-time in 2015 and have applied for, or are currently enrolled in, a Higher Degree by Research. Applicants who have commenced their research degree must have at least 12 months full-time or equivalent candidature remaining. Applicants who have previously held an IPRS for six months or more cannot be considered for another IPRS, APA or DUPR.

The primary criterion is a high standard of Honours (a year of assessed research following an undergraduate course) or its equivalent. Equivalence could include:

  • research Masters' degree with at least 2/3 of the degree comprising a thesis graded at 80 per cent plus
  • coursework Masters' degrees or graduate diplomas which includes a research project or thesis of 10,000 to 20,000 words to 80%+ standard and research methodology units
  • comparable qualifications from international universities including a research project or thesis of 10,000 to 20,000 words and GPA 80 per cent plus standard
  • relevant postgraduate research experience
  • independently refereed journal articles, publications, or conference papers
  • professional reporting or prior learning
  • research related awards or prizes
  • other evidence of research ability.
