In the United States, typically there are two types of universities, the private universities and the state universities. In many countries people prefer to study in state universities or public universities than private universities as they feel that public ones are the best. But in the United States private universities and state universities are considered to be equal. Many private universities like Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology provide world class education and are considered to be the topmost universities in the US.
