I'm interested in the above field. Which country university offers the best course and how are job scopes around the world? Is there a demand for such profession?

Hi, there are many Postgraduate Earth Sciences courses related to Geological Engineering taught in abroad. Colorado School of Mines in USA offers Geology and Geological Engineering course.  There is Earth & Atmospheric Sciences taught at Purdue University which offers graduate research programs leading to the MS and PhD degrees.

At Malaysia you can check with universities like UPSI, UM, UKM etc. UPM offers MS. Geotechnical and Geological Engineering by research.

Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology at Australia has Geological Engineering program offered. University of Liverpool in UK has courses in Earth Sciences.

You should search and select the university and the country which you want to apply.

Geologist’s role in present day’s economics has been widely expanded in the last couple of decades. Geologist will also be required for environment engineering and this is a very expanding field. In future many qualified people will be required to fill the positions. Due to extensive ongoing civil works, such as the construction of the highways, airports, dams, residential complexes, pipelines, and ports in most of the developing countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan the demand of engineering geologists is high and will increase in next few years.
