Students are allowed to work part-time for 10 hours a week during the course of their studies. But it is extremely difficult for students to work and study at the same time. Hence most students accumulate these work hours and work during the summer holidays. There is an added benefit of the Schengen Visa. Students on completion of their studies can stay for an extra year and search for an appropriate job in the Netherlands and countries covered under the Schengen Visa.
Minimum wages are about 3.5 euros and hour; wages depend on the nature of work and the organisation where the student finds a job. The maximum wages go up to 6 euros an hour.
