About Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf
The Heinrich Heine University of Dusseldorf traces its origins to the Medical Academy that was started at Dusseldorf in 1907. In 1965, the University was formally created with three faculties, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. In the 1990s Faculties for Business and Economics and Law were added. Today the University is home to some of the finest academic minds and hosts nearly 30,000 students and 2,000 lecturers. There is a strong community of international students and this number is steadily growing.
