John Marshall Merit-based Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

First-time freshmen students who are charged the “Non-resident” tuition rate may qualify for the scholarship. They must have HS GPA >=3.9 & ACT >=30 or SAT Equivalent. These merit-based scholarships are awarded for four academic years (fall and spring semesters) as long as the student continues to enroll as an undergraduate full-time student at Marshall University and meets the renewal criteria:

  • Successfully complete at least 30 credit hours each academic year
  • Earn at least a 2.75 GPA at the end of freshman year and a 3.0 GPA by the end of the sophomore and junior years.

These non-resident student scholarship awards are tuition waivers. A tuition waiver may only apply to Marshall University tuition charges; it may not be used to cover online course fees. This waiver does not cover tuition charges from St. Mary’s Center for Education and other third-party agreements with colleges and universities.
