The Joyce Nield Creative Writing Scholarship 2015/2016

To be considered for the scholarship, you should: 1. Be a citizen of a non-UK Commonwealth country (a list is available here: http://thecommonwealth.org/member-countries); 2. Submit an application to the MA Creative Writing programme before 28th August 2015; 3. Indicate at the top of your personal statement therein that you would like to be considered for the scholarship; (if you have already submitted an application and/or been offered a place for September 2015 entry, you can just let us know by email that you would like to be considered); 4. Through your application to the MA demonstrate your eligibility, excellence, commitment, and potential. The successful applicant will be expected to act as a “Masters Scholar” and make a modest, but important, contribution to the learning community of the Manchester Writing School. Examples of this might include: arranging a seminar, workshop or small project; representing the university at an event or festival; undertaking a pilot project or placement with one of our partner organisations; encouraging the wider university community (including undergraduate students) to engage with Manchester Writing School activities.

Vice-Chancellor Scholarships (Non-EU Students only)

Manchester Met is making a limited number of Vice-Chancellor scholarships available. These scholarships are open to international students who enrol on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme. These scholarships are open to international students who enrol on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme. You can apply for an award if you: are an international student (classified as ‘overseas’ for tuition fee purposes) and have been offered a place on a taught course starting in January 2017 or September 2017 and are not currently registered on a course at Manchester Met.

Application details

For courses starting in January 2017, the deadline for receipt of applications is 31st October 2016. For courses starting in September 2017, the deadline for receipt of applications is 31st May 2017.

The Corporate Scholarship

Student requirements

Corporate EMBA Scholarship Where a Single Business Organisation supports the enrolment of two or more of their employees on an MMUBS EMBA, those student employees (whether sponsored by the employer or not) will be eligible for a 25% tuition fee scholarship (the “MMU EMBA Corporate Scholarship”). Minimum results required: Candidates will be required to provide evidence of employment by their nominated Organisation via the specified MMU form. There will also be an obligation to provide confirmation of continued employment on an annual basis.

MBA Referral Scholarship

Student requirements

To be eligible you must be a friend, relative, work colleague or contact of a current MBA student or MBA alumnus of Manchester Metropolitan University. You must be self-funded or a partially funded Executive MBA candidates.

Application details

As part of your MBA application, you must include a reference from the MBA student or alumnus who has referred you to the MBA programme. The reference should explain why you are suitable for the MBA and provide the full name and any previous names (e.g. maiden name) of the referee and their date of birth. If the reference is an MBA alumnus, they must state the year they graduated and a copy of their graduation certificate must be included with your application. If the reference is rom a current MBA student, their student ID number must be provided. You are advised to apply as soon as possible. Only a limited number of awards are made each year and they are allocated in date order (based on the date by which you confirm your place on the MBA programme).
