One-year Entrance Scholarships

Study level

Undergraduate

Eligibility requirements

Competition for entrance scholarships is intense at McGill. An extraordinary number of exceptional applications are received each year and, unfortunately, we cannot award scholarships to all good candidates.

To provide some guidance to scholarship hopefuls, the proposed academic standings of scholarship awardees for this upcoming fall term are listed in the table below. Some program-specific scholarships may have lower minima.

United States High School - MINIMUM A average (at least 95% or GPA of 4.00, or equivalent unweighted) over last two years of full-time studies, and minimum score of 700 in each SAT or 33 in the ACT; Overseas High School - MINIMUM A average (or equivalent) over last two years of full-time study; Advanced Levels - MINIMUM of 4 relevant Advanced-Level/CAPE/Pre-University subjects all with predicted/final grades of A, plus AS results and GCSE/Ordinary level results at a similar level. Interrnational Baccalaureate - 41 subject points (not including bonus points) on predicted or final grades; French Baccalaureate; MINIMUM overall average of 17, with minimum score of 14 in each course.

McGill University has established an additional program of complementary awards for recipients of the one-year entrance scholarship offer, if specific criteria are met. Receipt of a complementary award offer depends on the program of study in which you register and your fee-paying status.

To qualify for the complementary award you must be:

paying tuition at the international fee rate
registered in a deregulated program with a minimum 27 graded credits during the Fall and  Winter terms for academic year 2015-16
the recipient of a one-year entrance scholarship offer.
