The Leibniz University of Hannover traces its origins to the “Higher Trade School of Hannover” started in 1831 by Karl Karmarsch. Over the years the institution grew in size and stature and today the Leibniz University of Hannover is home to over 25,000 students who have travelled from different parts of the world to study here. Degrees are offered in the Natural Sciences, Engineering, the Humanities and Social Sciences, Law and Economics. Currently the University is home to over 4,000 international students and this number is set to rise in the coming years. Research focuses on science and engineering.
