Overview
The University of Freiburg is one of Germany’s oldest universities. Established in 1457, the University continues to be a centre of academic excellence and attracts students from all around the world. The University comprises 11 faculties and is home to over 24,000 students and 7,000 professors. With a key focus on research in medicine, biology and genetic engineering; there are a total of 20 research centres, which are a part of the University. The University of Freiburg has tied up with leading universities in the USA, the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia to facilitate student exchange programmes.
