Overview
Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel popularly known as the University of Kiel and CAU was established in 1665 and is home to nearly 25,000 students from all over the world. CAU comprises eight distinct faculties and offers a wide variety of accredited degrees. There are two core admission intakes every year and with the recent refugee crisis looming in Syria and the Middle East; facilities are being made to offer an easy transition for such refuge-students to start their academic life afresh at Kiel. A good selection of research programmes, especially in biotechnology, advanced computing and physics are also on offer.
