Overview
Heidelberg University was established in 1386, thus making it the oldest existing university in all of Germany. From being a centre of humanism and theology to progressing to become one of the most reputed places to study engineering and pure science; the University has grown quite appreciably. The University comprises 12 faculties, which includes two faculties of medicine one in Mannheim and one in Heidelberg. The University is also renowned for its high-quality research output. Popular research areas are Physics, Cellular Biology, Computing and Medicine. The University has a strong alumni network that has members all around the world.
