Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Academic)

Eligibility requirements

Students must: be graduating Year 12 in 2014 or have graduated Year 12 in 2013; have an OP 1 or 2 (or equivalent) and be starting university for the first time in 2015. They must also be one of: an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa, an international student who has completed high school in Australia.

Equity Scholarships Scheme

Eligibility requirements

Students must be from a low-income background; be experiencing financial hardship. They also take personal hardship into consideration when assessing applications. This includes: personal medical conditions, disabilities, dependants with special needs.

Application details

Students must complete and submit the Equity Scholarships Scheme application form. They must supply: individual bank statements for all bank accounts covering the past two months; proof of income; proof of the income of parent(s)/caregiver(s) if financially dependent and/or living at home; proof of partner's income (if partnered); Centrelink Income Statement for Youth Allowance, Austudy; Australian Taxation Office Notice of Assessment for the most recent financial year.

Domestic students can receive: Equity Scholarship of AUD $1,750 for one semester; Equity Bursary of $1,500 for one semester; faculty Equity Bursary of $1,000 for one semester. International students can receive: Equity Bursary of up to AUD $1,500 for one semester; faculty Equity Bursary of $1,000 for one semester.

Science and Engineering Financial Hardship Bursary

Eligibility requirements

You must be one of:

  • an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
  • a permanent resident of Australia
  • a permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • a New Zealand citizen.

You must also be:

  • from a low-income background
  • experiencing financial hardship
  • enrolled in or applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree offered by our Science and Engineering Faculty.

They must maintain an enrollment of at least 36 credit points for the semester of the bursary.

PhD Scholarship in Green Information Systems

Study level

Eligibility requirements

Students must have: completed either a first-class (H1) honours degree or a masters degree with a significant research component and a grade point average (GPA) of 6 or higher, in management, information systems, marketing, business administration or a comparable field; the ambition and capacity to complete a high quality PhD project within three years, starting before the end of 2015; a demonstrated knowledge of research methods; a strong research mindset, and evidence of skills in theoretical and empirical research, especially in quantitative methods such as experiments or surveys, or in design science; a broad understanding of relevant information systems research literature; strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.

Students must send the completed application form through email along with supporting documents, including: a written document explicitly addressing each of the eligibility criteria; a copy of their CV, including a comprehensive list of all their publications; a copy of the academic records for all their completed and attempted tertiary studies; copies of their most important research papers, which may include honours or master’s thesis; two letters of reference from academics who have taught or supervised them in a tertiary setting.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)

Eligibility requirements

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships are prestigious scholarships, funded by the federal Government to encourage exceptional students to undertake research higher degrees in Australia. Students must be applying to study a PhD, masters by research, or professional doctorate; have a minimum first class honours or equivalent and not have previously held an Australian Government-funded research scholarship for more than 6 months.

Value details

Students will receive: tuition fees and health-cover costs for them and health-cover costs for their dependents. They may also be considered for: an Australian Postgraduate Award living allowance scholarship.

Creative Industries PhD Top-Up Scholarship

Students must have a first class honours (H1) or equivalent; be accepted into a PhD at QUT with a project that is aligned with the Creative Industries Faculty's research areas; be applying for and be awarded a base scholarship at the same time students apply for this top-up scholarship. Base scholarships are: Australian Postgraduate Award (APA), QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA), Indigenous Postgraduate Research Award (IPRA), QUT Women's Re-entry Scholarship (WRE).

Research Scholarships in Tumour Tissue Engineering

Eligibility requirements

Students for Research masters must have a bachelor degree in cell or molecular biology, bioengineering, biotechnology, tissue engineering, biochemistry, applied mathematics or medicine and have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 5 on a 7-point scale. They must have either: have a first class or 2A honours degree or equivalent in cell or molecular biology, bioengineering, biotechnology, tissue engineering, biochemistry, applied mathematics or medicine and a relevant masters degree with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 5 on a 7-point scale, and a significant research component of at least 25 per cent of the total degree.

Students should send a copy of their full CV to Dr Daniela Loessner by the closing date, including: a list of their publications; conference participation's; copies of both undergraduate and postgraduate academic transcripts; the names of two referees and any other supporting information relevant to the project (for example, lab skills, essay and language skills, software and hardware expertise, work experience).

MBA Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

Students must: be applying to study with the Graduate School of Business for the first time; apply for and be accepted into the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Application details

Students to apply for a tuition waiver scholarship, must complete the MBA scholarship application form, and submit it with their application for the MBA. To apply for the merit scholarships, they don't need to submit a separate scholarship application. QUT will assess their eligibility based on their application for the MBA.

Value details

Students will receive one of: a quarter, half, or full-fee waiver or a merit scholarship. Merit scholarships are awarded at: AUD$ 500 for a GMAT score of 600-699 or AUD$ 1,000 for a GMAT score of 700 or more.

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Creative Industries)

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship is available for the two highest-ranked students in each of the additional entry courses within the Creative Industries Faculty. An additional entry course is any course that requires an audition, interview or portfolio as part of the entry requirements. Student must: be graduating Year 12 or have had no more than 1 gap years since graduating high school and be starting university for the first time. They must be applying for admission into: Bachelor of Design (Honours) Fashion; Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance); Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance); Bachelor of Fine Arts (Technical Production); Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts); Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting); Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts).

Triple Crown Scholarship

They can't apply if: they have completed their studies in Australia and they study the postgraduate business pathway program. It is available to international students who: have demonstrated academic excellence in their past studies and continue to achieve high standards for the duration of their studies.

International Merit Scholarship

It is available to international students who: have demonstrated academic excellence in their past studies and continue to achieve high standards for the duration of their studies.

Business Honours Scholarship

Students must have applied for and received an offer to study a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in the School of Accountancy and be enrolled to study full time. Students are not eligible for this scholarship if they hold another scholarship.
