Eligibility requirements

Guaranteed to all applicants with an average of 85% and 90% or higher, based on Grade 12 December exams or first semester Grade 12 marks. Renewable for four years at $1,250 per year (for 85%) and $1,750 per year (for 90%).

Students must submit a completed application for admission to the university along with a first term/semester grade 12 transcript and supporting documents where necessary before the deadline to be considered for any scholarship. No separate application is required unless specified.

$5,000 for 85.0% - 89.9% average; $7,000 for 90.0% - 93.9% average

President’s Scholarships

Recognizing those students who have achieved outstanding academic success. Renewable for four years at $8,000 per year. All students enrolling directly from high school who demonstrate the qualities and values honoured by StFX - notably leadership and dedication in service to others as well as academic achievement - are eligible.

For outstanding students across all programs in Arts, Science, and the Gerald Schwartz School of Business and Information Systems with an average of 94.0% and higher. Based on academic achievement. Renewable for four years at $3,000 per year.

StFX Alumni Association Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The criteria for this scholarship shall consider a balance of the following two factors:

Scholastic achievement:

Students must demonstrate scholastic achievement while in high school. Applicants must submit a high school transcript to demonstrate scholastic achievement.

Extracurricular activity:

  • Extracurricular activity is defined as activity that is undertaken outside the classroom. Such activity includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Involvement in sports, whether offered by the school or the community-at-large
  • Involvement in school-sponsored activities such as societies, clubs and non-sports teams
  • Involvement  in  community  stewardship  activities  such  as  volunteering  for  a  not-for-profit group
  • A full-time or part-time job in which leadership skills are developed.

Applicants must submit the Consideration for Major Scholarships, along with a first term/semester grade 12 transcript before the deadline.  Each applicant must include at least one (1) letter of reference from a StFX graduate as part of his/her scholarship application. The Alumni reference   letter   will   outline   how   the   scholarship   applicant demonstrates the values that are important to the StFX Alumni Association. The Alumni reference letter can be received from a StFX graduate who knows the candidate and is recommending him/her. Where possible,  the  applicant  should  solicit  the  Alumni  reference  letter  from  outside  his/her  family  (e.g., parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, grandparents). In addition to the Alumni letter of reference, students must provide at least one (1) letter of reference that supports his or her application.  These letters of reference will speak to the student’s achievements both scholastically and in extra-curricular activity.
