Teaching Fellow Scholarship

Selection Criteria and Eligibility: These scholarships are open to serving teachers from recognised international partner institutions only. Applicants must provide evidence of a high level of teaching capability, be highly committed to the teaching of their subject, clearly explain the benefit they would derive from the scholarship, show a willingness to teach at UCB in subjects relevant to the UCB curriculum, and a high level of written and oral communication in English. Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme should be of at least one year's duration and leading to an academic award at Higher Education level. The award of a Teaching Fellow Scholarship is subject to any necessary visa clearance by the UK immigration authorities. An offer of a Teaching Fellow Scholarship will be made to successful applicants and this offer may be used as evidence to the UK authorities of certain costs being met. However if a visa is not permitted the Scholarship will be withdrawn and there is no automatic reconsideration at any future point.

Application details

Although there are a limited number of scholarships in this category each year, applications can be considered for entry in Semester 1 (Late September/Early October) or Semester 2 (Late January/Early February). Applications should be made at least 2 months prior to the entry date. Please note that applicants offered a scholarship for a Semester two start will be awarded half of the scholarship against semester 2 fees and half of the scholarship against their subsequent semester 1 fees.

Vice Chancellor and Principal's Scholarship 2015/16

Selection Criteria: These scholarships are open to applicants recommended by recognised international partner institutions only. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in academic achievement. Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme should be of at least one year's duration and leading to an academic award at Higher Education level. Applicants must not previously have been enrolled on the programme concerned, previously been enrolled on a FdA programme at the College in the same subject area (if entering the final year of a first degree programme) or have previously received a scholarship from the College. The award of a Principal's Scholarship is subject to any necessary visa clearance by the UK immigration authorities. An offer of a Principal's Scholarship will be made to successful applicants and this offer may be used as evidence to the UK authorities of certain costs being met. However if a visa is not permitted the Scholarship will be withdrawn and there is no automatic reconsideration at any future point.

Although there are a limited number of scholarships in this category each year, applications can be considered for entry in Semester 1 (normally Late September/Early October) or Semester 2 (Late January/Early February). Only those applications made by August 31st for Semester 1 starts, or December 31st for Semester two starts will be considered. Applicants must demonstrate excellence of academic or other relevant achievement. The award of an International Student Scholarship is subject to any necessary visa clearance by the UK immigration authorities. An offer of an International Student Scholarship will be made to successful applicants and this offer may be used as evidence to the UK authorities of certain costs being met. International Student Progression Scholarship 2015/16

Selection Criteria and Eligibility: UCB is keen to encourage international students to progress to the highest level of study within their capability and to promote this the University Corporation has made available up to 150 scholarships of £1000 each which will be automatically deducted from the tuition fees of the programme to which the student is progressing. These scholarships are offered to any student who has successfully completed a specified programme of higher education at UCB (see below)and is progressing within 3 semesters to a higher level of study at UCB, e.g. Foundation Degree to BA Honours final stage or BA Honours to Masters. Progression Scholarships are not available for students progressing from a Year 0 or International Foundation Diploma programme. International Student Progression Scholarships will be allocated to international students who are newly enrolled on any BA Hons, BSc Hons, MA or MSc programmes who have successfully completed any FdA, FdSc, BA Hons, or BSc Hons programme at UCB and are progressing within three semesters of completion of the prior programme. The award of an International Student Progression Scholarship is subject to any necessary visa clearance by the UK immigration authorities. An offer of an International Student Scholarship will be made to eligible students and this offer may be used as evidence to the UK authorities of certain costs being met. However if a visa is not permitted the Scholarship will be withdrawn and there is no automatic reconsideration at any future point.

Applicants must not previously have been enrolled on the programme concerned, previously been enrolled on a FdA programme at the University in the same subject area (if entering the final year of a first degree programme) or have previously received a scholarship from the University. The award of an Academic Excellence Scholarship is subject to any necessary visa clearance by the UK immigration authorities. An offer of an Academic Excellence Scholarship will be made to successful applicants and this offer may be used where necessary as evidence to the UK authorities of certain costs being met. However if a visa is not permitted the Scholarship will be withdrawn and there is no automatic reconsideration at any future point.
