Frederick Bonnart-Braunthal Scholarship

Applicants must be: prospective MPhil/PhD students from any country, admitted for full-time MPhil/PhD research in any department of UCL and intending to pursue research relevant to the aim of the scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, research potential and the potential to lead to practical steps to combat intolerance. Hollier Graduate Scholarship in Greek: MA and PhD

STS Aristotle Scholarship

Student requirements

Only applicants accepted for entry onto post-graduate taught programmes within the STS department are eligible. This includes those accepted onto the degree, diploma, and certificate programmes. These scholarships will pay full UK fees, whether that is for the degree, diploma, or certificate programme for degree students. Payment is made directly to UCL. All those offered a place are eligible, including those with either UK/EU or overseas status (for overseas students, this studentship will pay for half the total of the overseas tuition fee). The scholarship does not include a stipend or support for accommodation. The primary criteria for the panel's decision will be: evidence of outstanding academic potential, evidence of likely difference-making for the programme, and potential for contributing to the intellectual and cultural life of the department.

Sir Herbert Henry Bartlett Scholarship (Travel Grant)

Student requirements

Candidates must apply through the Bartlett's Scholarships Website, giving particulars of the purposes for which they are seeking a Scholarship, and of the place or places they intend to visit in the event of a Scholarship being awarded. Previous tenure of a Scholarship does not debar a candidate from competing on a second occasion. Successful candidates will be expected to present a report on their visits within one month of their return. One or more scholarships may be awarded in each session.

Jean Ginsburg Memorial Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is open to currently registered students who are pursuing an M.Phil./PhD degree either within the Institute for Women's Health or within the Department of Neuroendocrinology at the Royal Free Hospital and UCL. It is made on the basis of financial hardship. The value of the Scholarship is £2,500 payable in one instalment in the October following award notification. Should the panel decide to split the award between two or more candidates, the amount may vary accordingly. The same student may receive the scholarship in a subsequent year provided that an application is submitted and he/she is selected by the relevant Heads of Department as part of the normal assessment process. However, the same student may not receive the award more than twice.

Mayer de Rothschild Scholarship in Pure Mathematics

London Opportunity Scholarship

Applicants should: have completed UCL's Year 12 Summer Challenge programme and submitted an independent research project as part of the programme; be holding an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study in any department; have accepted UCL as their firm choice; have a household income of £42,620 or less and be part of the first generation of their family to enter higher education (i.e. parents have not been to university). Denys Holland Scholarship

Student requirements

Applicants should be: holding an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study in any department; in financial hardship, and be able to demonstrate that without the scholarship they would be unable to study at UCL; preferably aged 25 or below at the time of commencing their studies; able to demonstrate that they have broad interests and intend to be actively involved in and contribute to the life of the university. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial hardship, subject to applicants demonstrating their intention to play a full part in extracurricular activities of UCL and the Students Union. It is for one year in the first instance, but will be renewed subject to satisfactory progress, for up to a total of three years. It may be held alongside other grants, bursaries, awards or scholarships, provided annual total funding does not exceed the cost of fees plus a reasonable sum for maintenance in any one year (as determined by UCL).

Keith Wightman Scholarship

Student requirements

Candidates will: be a student from any country; have successfully completed the first year of their undergraduate degree studies in any subject at UCL and show an excellence in golf, and academic excellence. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and golfing excellence (preference will be given to students with a handicap of 5 or less, and/or category 1 golfers). If there are no qualified candidates meeting this criterion in any given year, the scholarship may be awarded to another sportsperson who has shown excellence in his or her chosen sport. Financial need will also be taken into consideration.
