Half Fee Academic Excellence Scholarships

Student requirements

Applicants must be living overseas and not nationals of China or the EU. They must apply for full-time study on any level of degree programme i.e. undergraduate or postgraduate taught (not research). They must have been made an offer to study at the University of Bradford and be in receipt of the £3,500 International Academic Excellence Scholarship (see above). They must also be paying their own fees. External students are not eligible – only those based in Bradford. If they hold a firm offer to study with us in September 2015 and have already been awarded a £3,500 academic related fee scholarship (shown on their offer letter) then this is the scholarship for They. If they hold a conditional offer from us and believe that they will obtain the equivalent of AAB in A Levels (for undergraduate study) or a first-class honours degree (for postgraduate study) then please apply for this scholarship. They must be able to prove their results by the end of August 2015. The scholarship is worth half of the tuition fees. If they are on a course lasting longer than one year then subsequent payments will depend on They getting an average of over 60%. They are not entitled to any other scholarships or discounts e.g. Alumni discount if they are in receipt of a half fee scholarship.

Social Work Bursaries

Student requirements

The main criteria will be the average marks achieved across all modules in year one of the course, with bursaries being allocated to the 47 students with the highest average. In the event of several students having the same average mark, marks in the Values and Ethics module, in the first instance, and, if necessary, in the Introduction to Social Work module will be used to determine who is nominated.

A limited and capped number of bursaries will be available for students on years two and three of the BA Social Work. (Bursaries are no longer available for year one of BA Social Work courses).

International Academic Excellence Scholarships

Level of study

Student requirements

These scholarships are automatically processed by the University and no separate application is required. The amount of scholarship that you entitled will be shown on your offer letter. Although you may apply for more than one scholarship, you can only receive one scholarship from the University. The exception is that you can still receive the 15% Alumni discount and this scholarship. Students must be paying their own fees. Students in receipt of external funding e.g. chevening scholarships are not entitled to this award. Undergraduate entry: Country equivalent of BBB at A-level will result in a £2,500 fee scholarship. The scholarship will be paid in subsequent years if progressing with an average of 50% or above. Country equivalent of AAB at A-level will result in a £3,500 fee scholarship. The scholarship will be paid in subsequent years if progressing with an average of 60% or above. Postgraduate entry: Country equivalent of 2:1 at degree-level will result in a £2,500 fee scholarship. Country equivalent of first-class Honours at degree-level will result in a £3,500 fee scholarship. All countries except EU and China are eligible for this scholarship.

Students from World Bank low-income or low to middle income economy countries (not EU) Self-funding international students (not EU) who are nationals of countries that are defined by the World Bank as having low-income or low to middle income economies. Students on discounted partnership programmes are not entitled to this scholarship. All students from one of the World Bank countries will be entitled to get £2,000 fee scholarships as a fee reduction for meeting or exceeding the entry criteria. These are automatically processed by the School and no separate application is required.

Peace Scholarships

Peace Scholarships –is a combination of the Adam Curle Scholarship and the James O'Connell Scholarship. Any prospective student in any of the Division of Peace Studies undergraduate courses who has formally confirmed acceptance of our offer (either conditional or unconditional) of admission onto the course for the academic year 2015-16 is eligible to apply. We are looking for: A prospective student who shows an ability and motivation to undertake and complete excellent work, who displays a well-rounded education and interests both inside and outside of formal education, who demonstrates the potential to take on leadership roles within the department during their degree work and who is committed to working for a better world.
