University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology Equity Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Eligibility:
* Have completed their Diploma or Advanced Diploma at the Canberra Institute of Technology in the year preceding and have not completed more than 6 months of Undergraduate study at the University of Canberra;
* Be an Australian citizen, or a permanent Australian resident, or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or a temporary protection visa;
* Attach a 500 word written statement outlining their financial hardship and how the scholarship will assist with their studies;
* Attach a copy of their CIT academic transcript and provide any additional documentation outlining financial need;
* Not have been a previous recipient of this scholarship.

The University of Canberra and the Canberra Institute of Technology have formed a partnership to encourage more students to undertake tertiary studies. This scholarship is intended to assist with the education costs associated with the transition from Canberra Institute of Technology to the University of Canberra. Two scholarships will be offered at AUD $2,500 per recipient.

Eldon and Anne Foote Elite Athlete Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Eligibility:

Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident;
Enrolled in either an Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, or Honours degree, at the University of Canberra;
Be recognised as an Elite athlete who has performed at an international level either Individually or as part of a team and as determined by the Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) guidelines;
Selection will be made based on the selection panel's interpretation of the applicant's level of demonstrated financial need. Whereby two or more students are considered equal, academic performance and previous completion of tertiary qualifications will be considered;
Attach a 500-800 word written statement outlining the applicant's level of financial need and how the financial assistance would assist both athletically and academically.

University of Canberra Rotary Club of Hall Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Eligibility:

  • Have completed Year 12 at an ACT or Regional NSW school;
  • Be between 17 and 25 years of age;
  • Be undertaking their first degree;
  • Be financially disadvantaged and able to provide evidence of such;
  • Have undertaken voluntary community service including any service undertaken in school programmes.
  • Be Australian citizens or holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas and attach a 300-word outline to describe their voluntary service activities. At least one reference from a supervisor of the applicant's voluntary school or community work is needed.

Rotary Club of Belconnen Nursing Award

  1. their interest in remote and/or indigenous nursing;

Soldier On Scholarship

Eligibility:

Be enrolled in their first year of undergraduate or postgraduate study (i.e have not completed more than 12 months of their current degree); or
Be enrolled in their final year of undergraduate or postgraduate study (i.e have no more than 12 months of their current degree left);
Be known the Soldier On program as a former service person who has been affected by their service or an immediate family member of such a person;
Students that received the Soldier On Scholarship in their first year are eligible to apply for the scholarship in their final year.
Applicants will be assessed based on a 500 word statement addressing the following selection criteria:

Extent to which the recipient's study program will help them overcome challenges and create new opportunities for their future
Extent to which the scholarship will enable the recipient to do what might not have otherwise been possible

Manteena Scholarship for Leaders in Construction

Selection will be made based on the selection panel's interpretation of the applicant's written statement addressing the scholarship criteria. Preference will be given to those applicants who have recently entered the Building and Construction Industry and to full time students. Whereby two or more students are deemed eligible, academic achievement may be taken into consideration.

UC Elite Athlete Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Have completed at least one semester of study and be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Canberra;
  • Be able to demonstrate strong academic performance as evidenced by their GPA
  • Be recognised as an Elite athlete as determined by the Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) guidelines;
  • Provide a letter of support regarding their sporting achievements from their National Sporting Organisation (NSO). The letter must include the scholarship applicant's performance at the NSO's most recent benchmark event;
  • Provide a 300 word statement outlining how they plan to successfully combine their sporting and study commitments.
  • Selection will be made based on the applicant's academic performance and written statement. A student who has received the scholarship in the past is not eligible to receive it again.

UC Research Degree Honours Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • If you have high academic capacity and research aptitude you can apply. You must also: 
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree at UC or another university, and achieved a GPA of 6 or above and have demonstrated potential for research. (Applicants with a GPA less than 6 may be considered for Faculty scholarships and are encouraged to apply)
  • Have applied for admission into an Honours degree as a full time student at the time of scholarship selection, but study for the Honours degree must not have commenced.
