International Dean’s Excellence Award (IDEA) for New International Students

Eligibility requirements

The IDEA scholarship is a merit-based, partial-tuition scholarship awarded to new international undergraduate applicants entering in the fall (September). 

New freshmen applicants entering in the fall (September) who have completed the full International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma will automatically receive the full award amount of the IDEA scholarship.

International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) Tuition Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

The ICSP scholarship awards 30–40 competitive scholarships to international students each year. The ICSP scholarship has a cultural service component that requires students to give presentations about their home country to children, community organizations, and UO students, faculty, and staff. ICSP scholarships are based on financial need, academic merit, and the ability to make presentations to diverse groups of people. ICSP scholarships are renewable.

International Student Work-Study Program

Eligibility requirements

This program grants more than 50 work-study awards, ranging from $500–$3,000 each year, to eligible international students with financial need. Students who receive these awards can compete for on-campus work-study jobs during the academic year. Students are not guaranteed on-campus jobs, but opportunities for on-campus employment will increase.

Kimble First Year Teaching Award

Study level

Undergraduate

Eligibility requirements

The award honors both excellent teaching and reflective practice. To win it, GTFs must attend the teaching development workshops or conversations within TEP or other departments/units, complete a midterm evaluation, and write a teaching philosophy statement.

UO Public Impact Graduate Fellowship

The opportunity to participate in a research advocacy workshop for graduate students and faculty.

Margaret McBride Lehrman Fellowship

A $9,000 award (and tuition waiver for a non-GTF recipient) will be made to a graduate student with financial need who is pursuing studies that emphasize communication, particularly through writing.

Durga Devi/Vijay Sharma Sachdeva Fund for Research

This grant is supported by the Durga Devi/Vijay Sharma Sachdeva Fund to support international women. Applicants must be female UO international students with a well defined and approved research proposal and must demonstrate financial need.
