Fraser Island PhD Scholarship for Investigation into Sustainable Transport Solutions

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • hold a bachelor degree with First Class Honours or be assessed by USC as having an equivalent level of attainment;
  • not hold an equivalent HDR qualification to that being applied for;
  • not be receiving an equivalent scholarship, or salary providing a benefit greater than 75 percent of the APA stipend rate to undertake the HDR
  • recipients must maintain satisfactory progress as a full-time higher degree by research candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast
  • the recipient will be expected to travel frequently to Fraser Island and to develop good working relationships with the relevant stakeholders

Thompson Study Support Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Eligibility:

  • full-time student in first undergraduate program
  • enrolled in any USC undergraduate program
  • successfully completed at least one semester at USC (48 credit points) on awarding of Scholarship (commencing Semester 2 study with less than 96 credit points)
  • grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 or higher
  • permanent resident of Australia, Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or Permanent Australian Humanitarian Visa holder

Selection criteria:

  • hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available to the student to study (for example: compulsory fieldwork or professional placement as a component of undergraduate program, significant carer’s responsibilities)
  • financial need
  • equity students, as identified by USC Student Administration

Rhodes Scholarships Queensland

Eligibility requirements

you must:

  • be an Australian citizen and have lived in Australia for at least 5 of the last 10 years
  • have been born between 1 October 1990 and 1 October 1997 (inclusive)
  • have completed at least four years of secondary schooling in Australia
  • have completed an honours or masters degree (or international equivalent) by 31 December 2015, achieving first-class honours or an equivalent mark of distinction.
  • You cannot apply if you have applied for a Rhodes scholarship two or more times before.

Apart from first-class honours, there is no particular list of academic qualifications or personal or professional achievements that you need to be a Rhodes Scholar. The selection panel is looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • literary and scholastic achievements
  • energy to develop their talents to the full
  • truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship
  • moral force of character and instincts to lead.

  • applicants will be considered ineligible if currently in receipt of another major USC or external scholarship (this does not include bursaries)

  • demonstrated involvement within or for indigenous communities

Prior study must be in the area of study relevant to the discipline area of this Masters Degree.
  • Recipients must maintain satisfactory progress as a full-time Masters candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Selection criteria:
