  • Completed a relevant Bachelor degree in chemistry, materials science, geology, civil engineering or structural engineering with first class honours, or be regarded by the university as having an equivalent level of attainment or minimum 5 years’ relevant industry experience;
  • Familiarity with the value and use of a wide range of construction materials;
  • Relevant experience in analytical instrumentation, materials or structures testing or numerical modelling; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Downer Rail Scholarship for Women in Engineering

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be Female;
  • Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
  • Commencing their first year of an undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice (BEng(Hon)DipProfEngPrac) or a combined degree which includes the Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice (DipProfEngPrac) at UTS; and
  • Either a current or non-current school leaver with an ATAR or equivalent of 80 or above, excluding bonus points; and
  • For the duration of the Scholarship: full-time enrolment (minimum of 24 credit points/session) in their chosen UTS undergraduate Engineering degree; and
  • Majoring or intending to major in either Electrical , Mechanical, Mechatronics, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering; and
  • All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible and must attend an interview.

Westpac Bicentennial Foundation Young Technologists Scholarship

Study level

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
  • Current school leaver who received an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) or equivalent score; and
  • Non-current school leavers, under 26 years of age at the commencement of the relevant academic year; and
  • Achieved an ATAR or equivalent of 80 or above, excluding bonus points; and
  • For the duration of the Scholarship: full-time enrolment in one of the below specified UTS undergraduate degrees and relevant majors; and
  • All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible.
  • Applicants wanting to evidence financial disadvantage or other equity barriers should apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for an Equity Scholarship or the Educational Access Scheme.

In addition, preference will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • From low socio-economic status backgrounds (low SES)
  • From non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB)
  • People with disabilities
  • From regional and remote areas

Eleanor Dunn Scholarship in Engineering

Students to be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
Commencing their first year of an undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice course; and
Majoring or intending to major in either Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical; Mechatronics Engineering or Information Communication Technology (ICT) Engineering; and
Australian citizens, or holders of an Australian Permanent Resident visa or Permanent Humanitarian visa; and
Either a current or non-current school leaver.
For the duration of the Scholarship: full-time enrolment in the chosen Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice course; and
All candidates must apply using the UTS online Engineering Scholarships Application form; and

St Catherine’s Elite Athlete Scholarship

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • A graduate of St Catherine’s School, Waverley, in the year prior to the scholarship being awarded; and
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
  • Must be accepted into the UTS Elite and Emerging Athlete Program and compete as a:
  1. World Class Athlete (Olympian, World Championships); or

Hansen Yuncken NSW Construction Scholarship

Study level

Undergraduate

Eligibility requirements

Students must be an Australian or New Zealand citizens, or holders of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; commencing students in the UTS Bachelor of Construction Project Management course. The recipient must commence in the admission period immediately following scholarship offer and has undertaken in the past two years, partial or completed studies at TAFE or a Trade Apprenticeship in the field of Building, Carpentry or Construction related studies.

  1. Master of Not-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Management; or

For Coursework students only:

  1. Must have completed 12 credit points of study; and

Eligibility requirements

International applicants or applicants with an international background. An applicant must have been offered a PhD admission into the Business School for study as a full-time student. They must have a bachelor degree with first class honours or equivalent level of attainment. They must not already have a doctorate degree.

Chicka Dixon PhD Scholarship

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

Indigenous Australian (must complete a Confirmation of Aboriginality form or provide a statutory declaration)

  • Must have completed or be completing a UTS:INSEARCH Diploma in Sydney, Australia; and have an overall grade of credit average or above in their Diploma; and
  • Meet the UTS admission criteria for the selected UTS undergraduate degree course; and
  • Must be commencing studies in a UTS undergraduate degree in the next available intake after completion of the candidate's UTS:INSEARCH Diploma; and
