PhD scholarship applicants should have a record of excellent academic performance and have attained one of the following qualifications: Honours First Class, a Masters degree by research or equivalent. Additional relevant teaching or professional experience in higher education settings and/or peer-reviewed research activity, awards and/or prizes will be considered favourably. Both domestic and international prospective students are encouraged to apply.

Applicants apply online. The online application requires you to include an academic transcript, a copy of your passport or birth certificate and the outline of your proposed research project. They should also submit a cover letter detailing relevant experience, a CV,  an academic transcript and a research proposal to Associate Professor Romy Laws.

UOW Bradman Foundation Scholarship

Applicants must hold an Indian citizenship; be enrolled at UOW or have an unconditional offer of admission to UOW; have completed his or her secondary education at an Indian school and have achieved 75 per cent in at least three academic subjects; and have a club or higher level of participation in the sport of cricket.

Australian Research Council (ARC) PhD Scholarships are available at University of Wollongong, Australia for prospective applicants who are interested in pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in autonomous agent and multiagent systems, agent - based coordination, negotiation, learning, and agent-based modelling and simulation. The scholarships are for those with outstanding results, in the same categories outlined above for the UES, and applying for the following Bachelor degrees at UOW (Australian campuses only): accounting and financial services; arts; creative arts; performance; journalism; banking and financial services; business information systems; commerce; economics and finance; communication and media studies; digital media; computer science; information technology; engineering; international studies; law (single degrees); mathematics; mathematics and finance; medical mathematics; medical radiation physics; and science (materials, nuclear science and technology, physics).

25 per cent reduction of the international tuition fee (50 per cent of tuition fees when offered in combination with the UES).

2016 Sydney Campus International Student Bursaries

Eligibility requirements

The bursary is available to any international student commencing for the first time at UOW in 2016, at an eligible course at the Sydney Business School’s Sydney CBD campus. Students already enrolled at an Australian or international campus of UOW will not be eligible for the bursary. The bursary is only for eligible courses and subjects undertaken at the Sydney CBD campus. If a student undertakes subjects offered at any other UOW campus, he or she will no longer be eligible for the bursary. The holder of the bursary must remain enrolled in the degree and proceed at the minimum rate of progress (full-time for an international student) in order to remain eligible for the bursary.

Value details

Full tuition fee waiver of the final two subjects in the 12-subject Master degree, or the final three subjects in the 16-subject Master degree.

Sydney Business School Partial Tuition Scholarship

Applicants must meet each of the following conditions in order to apply for the scholarship: An unconditional offer to study a Masters program with Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong. Commencing  studies in the trimester of which they are applying for the scholarship. A Bachelor degree with an Australian equivalent average of at least 70%. Address the following three (3) selection criteria in 500 words or less: Motivation for studying your selected program at Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong; Outline how you believe this degree will help you achieve your career goals and personal aspirations; and Describe the value you believe you will bring to your fellow students.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must be Australian Year 12 or equivalent international secondary school qualification; Foundation Studies programs approved for direct admission to Bachelor degrees and offered at an institution recognised by UOW; Diploma or other academic pathway program approved for admission with credit exemption from an institution with which UOW has a formal agreement; Up to one year of study in a Bachelor degree at a recognised University, where there is no credit exemption awarded to study at UOW. The UES is available to students enrolling in Bachelor degrees at UOW (Australian campuses only) except for the following: Medicine and Surgery; Nursing; Science (Nutrition or Exercise Science); Nutrition and Dietetics; Exercise Science and Rehabilitation; Social Work; and Psychology (all degrees).
