About the accommodation

Hampshire College has been designed as a residential learning community. They provide a dynamic, intellectual learning environment; safe, comfortable housing; and support to students in balancing the rights of individuals with the responsibilities of community membership. Dakin and Merrill Houses respectively house 280 and 247 students in single and double rooms. Most first-year students live in one of these halls. "Mods" are apartment-style houses, primarily for second, third, and fourth year students. Units have a common living room/dining area, a kitchen, and one, two, or three bathrooms. Each house is staffed by a live-in professional house director, supported by student residential staff whom they call interns. House directors are responsible for overseeing the operations of each house and the well-being of the residents.
