Overview

The Intensive English Language Program (IELP) administered by the University at Albany, State University of New York (UAlbany) has served students from over 115 different countries and has an average class ratio of 15 students to 1 teacher. All its teachers have masters degrees or higher. The IELP, established in 1978, has trained 10,000 ESL students. The IELP is a member of the American Association of Intensive English Programs and University and College Intensive English Programs. Students who do not meet UAlbany’s English language requirements can be admitted to all UAlbany undergraduate programs and some graduate programs with the condition that they successfully complete the IELP. No TOEFL or IELTS score is needed for students who successfully complete the IELP (for all undergraduate and graduate programs).
