Western’s admission scholarships for incoming first-year undergraduate students direct from secondary school. Eligibility is based on successful completion of the secondary school diploma and on the student’s final admission average, including prerequisite courses, as calculated by Western for the program to which the student has confirmed acceptance. Western will determine averages for applicants who are not studying in a Canadian secondary curriculum based on: curriculum, grading practices, grading scale interpretation and performance of previous students from that curriculum while at Western.
No application is required for consideration.

Funding for Postgraduate Studies
For postgraduate students at Western, their graduate programs are the primary source of internal funding through Western Graduate Research Scholarships (WGRS) and teaching and research assistantships. Students are also encouraged to apply for funding to external funding agencies. Some postgraduate programs are taught master’s programs by project or course work without graduate program internal funding attached.
