Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Fashion Design Graduate Wins Vogue Talents Design Competition
Congratulations to Elizabeth Soon, a fashion design graduate from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) for winning the top prize in the premier Vogue Talents Fashion Design Competition! Organised by Domus Academy, Milan in partnership with Vogue Talents and an initiative under the infamous Vogue Italia, this prestigious competition offers the deserving winner a scholarship that covers 70% of the tuition fee to pursue a one-year Fashion Design Master course in Milan that costs more than 23,000 Euros! Mamma mia!
Previously awarded the Best Graduate for Diploma in Fashion Design (2011) and recently graduated as Best Graduate from NAFA’s BA (Hons) in Fashion Design programme offered in collaboration with the University of East London, Elizabeth Soon defeated over 50 competitive applicants to emerge as the final winner. During her studies at NAFA, she has also received the Embassy of Peru Award for outstanding performance; in addition, her creative works were shown at the celebrated Graduate Fashion Week, London 2012 and caught the attention of several influential media, including vogue.com.uk and TheStyleColumn.com – calling her collection a “powerful visual impact”.
In an interview published on NAFA website (September), Elizabeth said, “I am very happy and excited to win the competition, I never expected to win as it is an international competition that attracts talents from around the world. It is an honour to have been selected by a jury that includes a Vogue Italia editor ad it is an incredible opportunity for me to study in one of the fashion capitals of the world.
