Overview

The University of Ballarat (UB) is the only regional university in Victoria providing technical, vocational, higher education programs and research opportunities. The University has six campuses, located in Ballarat, Ararat, Stawell and Horsham. UB is also the 3rd oldest learning institute in Australia, celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2010.

The Institution is truly international with over 4000 international students. The University works with a range of partner institutes across the world and has close tie-ups with local industry. The University is divided into two sections – TAFE and Higher Education. The University offers several programs across many fields of study including business and commerce, human and community services, visual and performing arts, science, mathematics, information technology, engineering, nursing, paramedicine, biomedical sciences, food sciences, teacher education, the behavioural and social sciences, the humanities, human movement, sport sciences and manufacturing.

The University has gained an international reputation for its commitment to high quality learning, teaching and training. UB has achieved maximum five-star rating for ‘teaching quality’ and four stars for ‘getting a job’ in the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 edition of the Good Universities Guide and five stars for ‘graduate satisfaction’ in the latest 2013 guide. The University of Ballarat also rates at 80.4% with ‘graduates in full time employment’ on ‘myuniversity.gov.au’ website, the highest of any Victorian university.

UB serves the community by undertaking internationally recognized research and engaging with industry and business. The University hosts a number of research centres and has collaborative arrangements for research with a number of Australian and overseas universities.

Ballarat is a very good place to study and not many disturbances around because it is a quiet place. I think that the fees are also cheap here. Before the students come to study they must get a basic knowledge of what they will study and be prepared for it....read full review
