Course summary
In this course students may seek employment as: database security expert, e-security specialist, IT security administrator, network engineer and web security administrator. On completion of this course, graduates may continue their study in: Bachelor of Computer Science or a Bachelor of Information Systems at La Trobe University. Students completing the Bachelor of Computing Science can seek employment in the areas of systems programming, systems analysis, systems design, computer testing, application programming, database development, database administration, software engineering, software consulting and IT sales consulting. Graduates completing their Bachelor of Information Systems can work in areas such as security engineering, network security, database engineering, project management, hardware engineering, and web application.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have successfully completed the Australian year 12 or equivalent in their country. They must have achieved a minimum of either IELTS score of 5.5 (academic) (no band score less than 5.0) or TOEFL paper based score of 530 (minimum TWE 3.5) or TOEFL computer based score of 197 (minimum TWE 3.5) or TOEFL internet based score of 71 (minimum 17 in all sections).
