Course summary
This is an academic preparation and pathway program for students wishing to enter the Australian National University. This program combines English language training with a concentrated academic program to upgrade the student’s knowledge and skills. The subjects on offer within the Foundation Studies program have been specially designed to provide students with the appropriate academic preparation for their intended ANU degree. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies Program, entry to the student’s chosen undergraduate degree course is guaranteed. The Standard Foundation Studies program requires students to complete twelve subjects to graduate from the program, comprising: Academic English, Advanced Academic English and ten degree-related and elective subjects in total.
Entry requirement for international students
Students from Australia should have Year 11 with 75% average. Students from Bangladesh should have completion of Year 11 - Grade average of 75%. Students from China should have SMS 2 - 75% grade average. Students from Malaysia should have GCE ‘O’ Level, SPM (or forecast) - Grade 4 average in 3 subjects. Students from India should have All India Senior School Certificate - Grade D in 3 subjects. Students from Pakistan should have completion of Year 11 - 70% grade average. Students from Singapore should have GCE ‘O’ Level (or forecast) - Grade 4 average in 3 subjects. Students should also satisfy minimum language entry requirements. They are IELTS (Academic): 5.5 (minimum 5.0 across all bands); TOEFL (Computer-based Test) plus Test of Written English (TWE): 190 and 35; TOEFL (Paper-based Test) plus Test of Written English (TWE): 520 and 3.5; TOEFL (Internet Based Test) plus Test of Written English (TWE): 68 and 18; GCE ‘O’ Level: B4; SPM English: 6C; HKCEE: 3 (Minimum 3 in each band) and HKALE: E in Use of English and D in Writing.
