Course summary
In this course students will gain the skills to explore design through real world industry projects. Combining theory with high level industry skills you will explore your professional future in major production companies or as an independent designer in the global furniture industry. They will investigate contemporary, cultural and environmental aspects of the professional furniture design practice. On completion of this course students will be employed as a furniture designers in consultants or employees in their product development teams. Many manufacturers employ furniture technologists and developers to create and improve product ranges with their production departments.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed year 12/Foundations Studies program or equivalent. Students should also fulfil the following English language requirements: IELTS score of 6.0+ (no band less than 5.5), TOEFL (Paper-Based): 550+ (TWE 4.0+), TOEFL (Computer-Based): 213+ (TWE 4.0+), TOEFL (Internet Based): overall score 79 and minimum 19 in all sections and REW - English for Academic Purposes Advanced 1 and 2.
