Course summary
This course is offered through the School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Applied Statistics. Actuaries combine skills from mathematics, statistics, economics, and finance to assess, evaluate and manage future financial risk, thereby addressing a wide range of practical problems in long-term financial planning and management. Actuarial skills are utilized in many areas, including insurance, superannuation, investment, banking, and government. There are many attractive career opportunities for fully qualified actuaries in Australia. Some of the job titles associated with actuarial studies is listed below: investment analyst; fund administrator/investment manager; liability manager; actuarial insurance broker; consultant or senior manager.
Entry requirement for international students
International students whose native is not English should have the following English qualifications: Academic IELTS - an overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; TOEFL (paper based test) - a score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5; TOEFL (computer based test) - a score of 230 with Essay score of 4.5 or TOEFL (internet based test) - a score of 90, with a minimum of 20 in all four sections.
