Course summary
In this program, students will develop an understanding of the key concepts and values underlying adult and vocational education, communication and change, teaching and learning, student assessment and curriculum development. With a designated set of completed courses, students can exit halfway through the program with the Associate Diploma of Vocational Instruction. A Bachelor of Training exit point is also available for students working as tutors in TAFE or as workplace trainers, but does not lead to teacher registration. The introductory themes are expanded into the following majors and they may elect to complete more than one major as part of their degree: Adult and Vocational Teaching; Adult Literacy and Numeracy; Human Resource Development and Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Schools. They will be qualified to work in the vocational education and training sector which includes TAFE, industry and private training providers, post-compulsory schooling, adult and community education, or in human resource development roles in the private and public sectors.
