Course summary
This study program consists of four years full-time (or the equivalent part-time). Students will need to achieve a high UAI to qualify for admission to this program. The objectives of the honours program are to enhance students' understanding of history and historiography, to provide them with the opportunity to undertake supervised research in a chosen area and to improve their academic qualifications. The honours degree is valuable for entry into careers for which some demonstrable research capacity is an advantage for admission to academic professions after postgraduate research and for almost any occupation involving working without close supervision.
