Course summary

This combined degree allows students to complete two Bachelor degrees in five years of study. The Bachelor of Laws qualifies graduates for admission to legal practice. It involves an innovative approach to legal education and scholarship. Personalised teaching and development of internet technology in the curriculum reinforce the reputation for innovation. The Bachelor of Arts gives students the flexibility to choose a major from more than twenty Humanities areas. Possibilities include: Ancient History, Anthropology, Australian Studies, Christian Studies, English, Geography (Human), Languages (Asian and European), Linguistics, Media, Modern History, Music Studies, Natural History, Culture and Museum Studies, Politics, Philosophy, Sociology and Women's Studies. Graduates are able to pursue careers where their Arts major brings an extra dimension to their work as legal practitioners (barristers or solicitors), legal officers in public or private sectors and legal academia.

Entry requirement for international students

There is no specific entry requirements and work experience necessary for this course. The required Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for this course is 90.80. Students should also fulfil the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic English only) score of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section; TOEFL (paper based test) score of 580 overall, with 53 listening, 52 reading, 59 structure/written expression, 5.0 TWE; TOEFL (computer based test) score of 237 overall, with 19 listening, 19 reading, 25 structure/writing and TOEFL (internet based test) score of 92 overall, with 18 listening, 17 reading, 22 writing and 22 speaking.
