Course summary

This course allows students to specialise in the exciting, high-demand fields within the digital and multimedia design profession. It includes non-browser and browser design, 2D and 3D animation design, digital imaging, visualising and rendering, interactive and experience design, simulations and modelling, title credit design, screen motion graphics and electronic game concept design. This major has been designed to reflect the diversity of the inter-disciplinary skills, knowledge and practices that form the basis of the digital animation and digital design-related fields. It fosters multidisciplinary interaction and collaboration across the arts, education, information technology, spatial technologies and business disciplines. They can choose to study combinations from within five inter-disciplinary areas designed to meet industry demands and your chosen career specialisation: Business and NET technology, Design and art, Education, Information technology and Spatial technologies. Students can study this as part of a double major with 3D Design, Creative Advertising and Graphic Design, Internet Communications, Screen Arts and Business Information Technology. The various career opportunities are Photographer, illustrator, web designer/developer, multimedia developer, games developer, interface designer, multimedia designer, animator, electronic game designer, cartoonist, art director, design project manager, design consultant, digital content creator, entrepreneur, museum designer and artist.

Entry requirement for international students

Students are required to submit a portfolio. They must also satisfy the English language requirements such as IELTS academic (International English Language Testing System) Writing score of 6.0, Speaking score of 6.0, Reading score of 6.0, Listening score of 6.0, Overall band score of 6.0 and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) paper based score of 550, Internet based (20 in each section) score of 80 and minimum test of written English (TWE) 4.5 and CUTE (Curtin Uni Test of English) - C.
