Course summary
This program allows students to develop their specific areas of interest. Because of the diversity of course areas, arts graduates find work in areas including teaching, government positions, management and administration, public relations, human resource management, and marketing. With increasing competition in all sectors of employment students who graduate with an honours degree have a distinct advantage. Some graduates may pursue careers in the area of their major, and others may be employed on the basis of skills acquired through their University study.The units of study include GRMN4015 German Honours 1, GRMN4016 German Honours 2, GRMN4017 German Honours 3 and GRMN4018 German Honours 4.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent program, with normally at least a credit grade average based on all studies undertaken in the program and/or in the approved major in which Honours is to be undertaken and any other additional work which may be prescribed by the Faculty Board. Students of China must have Senior Middle School 3 or 2 60% (SMS 3) or 75% (SMS 2), Malaysia students with SPM 30 points over five subjects and UEC 30 points over five subjects, Singapore students must have GCE ‘O’ Level (or forecast results) 30 points over five subjects and Vietnam students must possess Diploma of General Education Average grade 7.0. English language requirements include IELTS Overall Score of 5.5 (with no individual band less than 5.0), TOEFL – Computer-based Test score of 173 with a TWE minimum score of 4.0, TOEFL – Internet-based Test 71 with a minimum score of 16 in Writing, TOEFL – Paper-based Test 500 with a TWE minimum score of 4.0, GCE ‘O’ Levels C6, SPM English of grade B4, UEC Senior 2 English of grade B3, HKCEE English with grade C (Minimum D in Writing) and HKALE Use of English with grade E.
