Course summary
This program will provide professional development for the following student cohorts: Canadian Community College Diploma students (from 2008) and Practicing teachers from the Solomon Islands. Students will receive up to 160CP of advanced standing (credit) and a minimum of 80CP must be completed at Griffith University. This program will be offered on-campus at Mt Gravatt and will be delivered via in-person mode.
Entry requirement for international students
Students for admission to this program will normally be required to have the following qualifications and professional experience (or qualifications and experience deemed to be equivalent by the Faculty of Education). Canadian Community College students should have completed a Canadian community college diploma from a recognized Canadian college (or equivalent). Solomon Islands College of Higher Education students should have completed a recognized teacher preparation program from the Solomon Islands College of Higher Education (SICHE) and five to ten years of teaching experience in their home country and also completed Solomon Islands Teacher Upgrading Project (SITUP). International students whose native is not English should have the following requirements: a minimum overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 5.5; a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL; an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no score less than 19); no score less than three in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by GELI or ISLPR Language Services only); a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE); a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).
